Sonia has a 4.03 GPA, which places her at the top of her class. Art history is her main academic interest. She has studied modern and ancient art history in art history classes.  As a president of the Art and Design Club in school, she enjoys creative arts and serves as a designer and contributor to a student publication.

What challenges did she face?

  • She had to learn new vocabulary and concepts that she had never heard of before.
  • She was given research papers that were higher than her level and was required to write a college-level research paper as well.

The mentor holds positions as a core curriculum instructor in Art Humanities and a Teaching Assistant in Art, History, and Archaeology at Columbia University. His key study interests are Greek and Roman archaeology.
