What challenges did she face?

• Jane had a strong desire to create video commercials but had no prior knowledge on how to do so professionally.
• Jane’s script content has great concepts but poor sentence structure, syntax, and general cohesion.

The mentor has 15-years experiences as an editor, digital content strategist, cinematographer, college professor, and project manager. At NYU Tisch School of the Arts, he teaches cinematography and editing.

How did our program help her?

• We arranged for Jane to have a two-month intensive 1-on-1 program with a highly experienced professor to work on writing a screenplay for a video advertisement.
• Jane was able to have a better understanding of advertising strategy and the ways in persuading her target market successfully.
• We also created a portfolio website for Jane, which she may use to grow her audience and show off her work to admissions officers in the future.
• Jane was set up for success by the professor, who established the program’s goals and offered constant feedback for growth.
• Jane and the professor collaborated to transform stories into screenplay style, allowing them to better estimate the number of characters and places for budgeting purposes.
• Prior to each session, Jane was given reference materials to review so that she would be properly prepared for each meeting.
• The professor and Jane explored different camera shots in terms of close-up, medium, and wide-angle shots as they worked to transform sketches to film shots.
