Kiley is involved in multiple music-related extracurricular activities at YK Pao School Shanghai. She also attended Stanford Summer Program – Why Music Matters, Mass Choir, A Capella, and Student Government.

What challenges did she face?

  • Kiley wanted to work on an old music research article and needed strong guidance to achieve her objectives.


Matched professor:

At USC’s Thornton School of Music, she is the Chair of the Musicology Department and Vice Dean of the Division of Research and Scholarly Studies. She has written book reviews and produced scholarly books, novels, and essays about music.


How did our program help her?

  • For her fascination in ancient music theory, Kiley was able to learn relevant information and research tools.
  • Kiley had the opportunity to collaborate with a professor from a prestigious university and gain more practical knowledge about a career in musicology, such as where to study for both undergraduate and graduate schools.
