Dhevan Kalra

Dhevan has a strong desire to learn. He is self-motivated, self-reliance, and has self determination. He is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including serving as Vice-Chair, Co-Director, and Event Organizer. Prior to joining our mentorship program, he has published a research paper titled "“Blind Mate: A Friend to The Blind” on “IEEE -Xplore Digital Library”.

As part of the program, he completed an amazing final research paper, which will be published in Springer's Inventive Material Science and Applications.

His university acceptance includes JHU, Brown, and Cornell.

Xavier Wu

Intended major: Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
Age during program: Grade 11

Electrical and mechanical engineering are two of Xavier's greatest passions. He had a lot of ideas, but he needed to focus on the important concepts for his design paper.

As part of the program, he completed a research paper that was submitted for the International Association of Societies of Design Research Conference 2019 competition. His mentor gave him a positive evaluation and letter of recommendation.

Emma Zhu

Emma has experiences working on a stream monitoring project for an environmental NGO (Goose Creek) with her high-school team. With this, it has inspired her to work on a multidisciplinary project that includes both engineering and financial components.

Warren Su

Intended major: Computer Science

As a game enthusiast, Warren is fascinated about using artificial intelligence in gaming concepts. One of the challenges he faced was to overcome any doubts he had about developing and using his own graphic images.

Tommy Yan

Tommy consistently ranks in the top 20% of his class in all subjects. In the past, he has taken classes in C, Python, and Java, as well as automated process control. One of his previous projects include building a basic temperature control system circuit board project.

Freddy Fang

Freddy is a student in one of Shanghai's top international schools. He has excellent grades and a strong interest in biology (neuroscience, DNA, environmental science). He enjoys coding and has taken Python classes as well as a Java summer program at Columbia.

Brandon

Brandon is enthralled by physics. He is now pursuing a Physics degree at Nanjing University. His goal in this program is to obtain more project experience so that he can apply to PhD programs in the United States.

Aria Chaloli

Chloe is intrigued by the wonders of science and she is now enrolled in Advanced Chemistry and Honors Biology programs in school. Outside of school, she took Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Computer Science, all of which she has received fantastic results in. She is particularly interested in the science of chemistry and how its applications are inherently interdisciplinary.
